They also relieve stress. Here is an exercise that you can do anyplace. You may do this exercise while sitting or standing. Practice twice daily if you can!

  • Close your eyes
  • Take three slow deep breaths. Let your entire body relax
  • Focus on your breathing
  • Slowly and gently rotate your head and neck counterclockwise three times
  • Circle clockwise three times
  • Repeat these movements several times
  • Lift your shoulders towards your ears. Gently release them. Repeat five times
  • Make large circles with your shoulders. Keep your arms relaxed at your sides
  • Move your shoulders forward and back
  • Gently stretch your arms over your head while grasping your hands together. Continue to focus on slow, gentle breathing
  • Open your eyes
  • Sit quietly for a few minutes after you conclude the exercises

Because neck discomfort and headaches are widespread, consulting with your healthcare provider is useful. See your doctor if you experience a new onset of neck pain and headaches.
